    Cozy and Fresh Day in Val d'Oise

    This route is all about walking and looking around, admiring how lovely is the surrounding.
    It will be an interesting promenade, where nature, leisure, architecture, and food are combined in one place. You will be very surprised at how many little jewels the big city of Paris has all around. Starting just out of its doors, you will have the first historical encounters with the Villa Savoye, and with the magical Parc des Impressionists. Then the route will lead you after towards the small village of Cergy, your cradle for the day, where you can have time to relax, enjoy and eat with a cute port-view.

    After about 40 minutes having left Paris, you can access to a kind of open-air museum with "3-D impressionists paintings". It is the Parc des Impressionists in Rueil-Malmaison, which has been built in 1996 taking inspiration precisely from the views and colours in the Impressionists paintings of the 19th century. There are lots of different plants variety and a kiosk surrounded by a small pond which is inspired by Monet's garden in Giverny.

    On the way to the nature, there is a jewel of the modernist architecture that is a must to see. Villa Savoye.
    It is one of the masterpieces of the Swiss revolutionary architect Le Corbusier, and it is in Poissy, from where it takes about half an hour to arrive in Cergy.

    First step arrived to Cergy is the boulangerie Au pain du village, the best bakery of the village, where it is possible to have a break before starting the walk in the beautiful park of Val d'Oise. Also it has some delicious snacks to pack for a pic-nic with the lake view in the woods.
    In this area there is the possibility to leave the car in some parking spots around (there are many free spots) or also in a parking lot near the port, before the walking route in the park.

    From the entrance of the park, which it can be reached by walking by the port and crossing the bridge that overlooks above the river Oise, the promenade in the nature starts.
    It is a remarkable dive into a wild landscape which surrounds a big lake with a small isle in the centre and where it is possible to admire families of elegant swans soaring gently on the water of the shore.
    Continuing walking along the perimeter of the lake, you can see a colossal red bridge, masterpiece of the Israeli sculptor Dani Karavan, which was built during the '80s.

    Here we are at the core of the Cergy park, on the island of “leisure time”!
    A big fun itinerary, where it is possible to access to all sorts of amusements both for children and adults. There are kayaks for rent to explore the lake, water ski, aqua parks, tennis, and basket camps and a lot more activities for all kinds of moods and occasions, even if it is not summer.
    Though it is not necessary a reservation for the entrance, they do recommend arriving before 11 o'clock during the summer.

    Last but not least of this petit tour is a stop in a stunning harbor view bar and restaurant.
    After a long day walk and lots of activities, maybe it is mandatory a cozy and chill moment to rest and admire the view and the nature.
    Here you can taste the flavours of the French cuisine or just have an appetizer before heading back towards the city of Paris.
    The restaurant is opened all week except on Monday and the opening hours are 12:00 pm to 14:30, and from 19:00 to 22:30. For any further information about the menu and to make a reservation you can go on their website.
